The NBC Sandusky interview with Bob Costas

NBC did not find these words important enough to include in the aired interview!!

“And I didn't go around seeking out every young person for sexual needs that I've helped. There are many that I didn't have -- I hardly had any contact with who I have helped in many, many ways," he added.

It is hard to imagine what possessed a news reporting organization to selectively provide portions of the tape of this interview for public viewing. Clearly, they withheld the most compelling part of the interview.  To say that they violated the trust society places in them as an objective reporter of the news is the understatement of a lifetime.

One can only wonder what their objective in this action was:

Was it to support Jerry Sandusky by hiding segments that could have a negative impact on his defense?

Was it to show that they do not find the charges against Sandusky credible and choose to intervene in the process by editing content in his favor, rather than allowing full disclosure and justice to take the proper course?

Does NBC actually condone the behavior in the accusations being faced by Sandusky, and this is their way of expressing that support?

Where is Bob Costas in this process? Where is his outrage that his employer would so inappropriately distort the content of his interview by omission and, as a result, put at risk the proper justice that a jury of peers will decide?

IF Jerry Sandusky is guilty of the charges, he is raping these young me again in the public arena.  For NBC to facilitate that process is truly despicable.

If you ever watch NBC again, think with each story, "How have they distorted the content for some ulterior motive?"  “Wonder what is missing?” Can I trust them to be reporters of the news and not molders of their own message?

Watch the video below-- this is not an isolated incident of NBC providing a distorted, if not outright false impression of the speaker and the context--
NBC is taking heat again for selective editing a day after presenting video of Mitt Romney seemingly awestruck by the process of ordering a sandwich at a convenience store.
During an afternoon broadcast of "Andrea Mitchell Reports," video of the GOP presidential candidate seemed to show a politician out of touch as he discussed ordering a hoagie at Wawa.
